Project description

The Erasmus+ 60 project is an international educational project of eight European universities, which focuses mainly on the analysis of the wide range of existing higher education offers for people aged 60+. The project will start with a research investigation in order to develop a comprehensive view of the existing senior education offer at the partner institutions and within their own national context. The main barriers and issues to be addressed in the context of senior education will be identified: personal motivation, barriers, IT skills, critical thinking, etc. The research investigation also aims at creating as varied and accurate a picture as possible of the attitudes of older citizens towards third age education and their needs. Based on the results of the survey, 7 pilot online courses will be developed to contribute to building inclusive higher education systems with a focus on citizens 60+. A methodology for collaborative online intergenerational learning will also be developed based on the results of the survey. Thus, a toolkit, a model for planning, implementation and evaluation of collaborative intergenerational learning between seniors and HEIs will be developed. In addition, a European online platform of learning activities for citizens 60+ with academically sound and internationally shared content will be created, which will be operational at national and European level. The results of the survey and feedback from the pilot runs of the courses will serve as a basis for methodological recommendations at policy level. New, more inclusive ways will be proposed that are suitable for the integration of older citizens, taking into account their specific needs.
