Who is this counselling for?
- Applicants for studying at MENDELU,
- full-time and combined students and participants in MENDELU lifelong learning programmes,
- students with no specific needs who can benefit from counselling and training in how to approach persons with specific needs,
- teaching and non-teaching staff of MENDELU,
- secondary school teachers who are interested in the possibilities of educating students with specific needs.
What can we offer?
We provide professional service. Our priority is to support you in all areas.
For applicants and students with specific needs, disabilities or other disadvantages (referred to as SP), we offer counselling and support services that lead to equal opportunities in admissions and studies.
The aim is to improve the learning experience and support everyone who comes into contact with students with SP as part of their studies.
How do we work and what do we base it on?
We customize our services according to the individual needs of each student. It depends on the practical effect of the SP on activities related to the study of a specific field/programme. A specific need alone may not be a reason to use our services. We are also careful not to reduce the study requirements. Students with specific needs must demonstrate the same knowledge and skills as if they were studying in the standard program.
We cooperate with study department staff, vice-deans for studies, guarantors of fields of study and other university staff if needed.
When providing services, we rely on the methodological guideline of the Ministry of Education and Science – Rules for the Provision of Contributions and Subsidies for Public Universities – Appendix 3, valid for the current year. We follow the Directive 10/2019 – Support for students with specific needs at Mendel University in Brno, which regulates the status of students and applicants with specific needs at Mendel University in Brno. All counselling and services take into account the protection of personal data.
